Contract Terms
Written notice must be given to Alice Kraft at least thirty (30) days before the intended date of admission or cancellation of accommodation.
Where annual accommodation is booked for the full period of study, written notice must be provided by 30 October of the current year to renew the contract for the following year.
No pro-rata rates apply for students who depart during holiday periods.
Student residency is for a period of ten (10) months, running from February to the end of November.
Residents must accept and comply with the Residence Rules as issued by Alice Kraft from time to time.
No reduction in fees will be granted if residence is taken up after the start of a trimester, or if the resident terminates the contract before the end of a trimester, unless specifically agreed to in writing by Alice Kraft under special circumstances.
Residence fees and other charges are subject to increase from year to year.
Alice Kraft reserves the right to terminate accommodation immediately and require the resident to vacate the premises should any undertakings or rules be breached. This is without prejudice to Alice Kraft’s rights to recover any outstanding amounts owed, and the right to claim forfeiture of any portion of the deposit held.
House Rules
Alcohol is strictly prohibited on the premises. Drugs are strictly prohibited on the premises.
Drunken behaviour is not permitted on the premises.
Visitors are permitted at the residence until 11:00 PM.
A fee of R50 applies for visitors who sleep over.
Smoking is not permitted inside the houses. This includes cigarettes and hookah pipes.
Noise and disturbances are not permitted. All residents must conduct themselves in a manner that allows uninterrupted studying at all times.
Daily cleaning services are provided. Residents are responsible for keeping their bedrooms tidy.
Shared common areas, including kitchens, bathrooms, and shared utensils, must be left clean after use for the next resident.
Cleaning materials are provided. Residents must supply their own toilet paper.
Laundry services are provided. Residents must supply their own washing powder. Any washing that needs to be done by hand must be done by the resident.
Ironing must be done by the resident. Residents are not permitted to use the washing machines.
A fine may be issued for failure to comply with residence rules. Parents/guardians will be contacted in the event that expulsion is imposed.
Resident Requirements
Students must bring their own:
Cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils, clothing hangers, towels, hair dryer, WiFi/communication devices, alarm clock, bedding, and an extra blanket for winter. Students may also bring a heater or hot blanket for winter if required.
